Anti-wrinkle injections are muscle relaxants, which when used in the right dosage and with the correct injection techniques can reduce the dynamic movement of muscles in the face. It is this dynamic movement which over time, and in conjunction with other ageing factors (such as sun exposure, smoking, diet, genetics), is the cause of upper facial wrinkles and contributes to the appearance of ageing.
By relaxing these muscles, we stop the dynamic wrinkles and in turn can prevent these from becoming static, or permanent (present even when you aren’t contracting your facial muscles).
Anti-wrinkle injections are most powerful when used as a form of prevention, however when used frequently (approximately ever 3-4 months) and over a period of time, can help to soften the appearance of static or permanent wrinkles in the upper face.
